Trends to Watch in 2024
From the end of woke feminism to the rise of Argentina, here are trends I am watching for 2024
Last year, I posted several trends I was watching on Twitter and made a handful of (primarily for fun) predictions. As we embark upon 2024, we hope for a better year than the last. Several significant trends are redefining our world, from politics to our economy, and potentially transforming our society from the ground up. Look what a sudden (but predictable) increase in interest rates caused across our economy. Often, we underestimate the impact of remote possibilities in the short term and need help seeing where the winds are blowing in the long term. Long-term transformation is constructed with small signals we often miss until it is too late.
From the end game of woke feminism to the rise of Argentina, here are significant shifts and essential trends in cultural narratives and societal constructs I am watching that have the potential to pivot and turn our world in a different direction than we expect.
The Return of Masculinity
Men are tired of being endlessly criticized and attacked by elites and pop culture. What was a hidden subculture is heading into the mainstream. Despite neverending pressure from the mainstream media, masculinity is ascending. The popularity of alternative voices like Jordan Peterson, Tim Pool, Joe Rogan, Pearl Davis, and others indicates men (and some women) are hungry for a return to normative and traditional masculinity based on duty, honor, righteousness, and love. As a counter-response to leftist media and mainstream radical feminist culture, a man with courage today is a man who is both masculine and leans center-right. This counter-revolution has less to do with actual policy and political beliefs but a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” movement.
Data shows that both men and women are desperate to change modern cultural expectations towards each other. The current secular leftist-progressivism that dominates social expectations is leading to deeper divisions, less stable family formation, less happiness, and simply is not true. When a man embraces what makes him unique and valuable as a human being (aka healthy masculinity), he chooses to stop believing a lie about themselves, society, the world, and women. When men choose to believe what is true about nature and reality, culture will stop driving a wedge between both sexes.
Masculinity is going to overtake less popular and less content woke feminism because what is currently transpiring is not working, leaving more people (regardless of sex) unhappy, and is the opposite of what people want - to love and to be loved.
Democrats are Divided
The media likes to play up that the Republican Party is seriously divided. It actually isn't. The Republican base and core constituents are aligned, but GOP elites are not. For better or worse, Trump's support within the Republican party is total, and the results from the first primaries show that.
